ELEVATED DESIGN SERIES - KITCHEN
Achieving ‘elevated living’ – a combination of personalised style with the homeowner’s ultimate lifestyle goals - is the key design approach for all Minted Elevated Living kitchen projects. The specific elevated living qualities achieved for Minted Founder and Director Tess Beagley’s freshly minted beach side kitchen are obvious in the final result. Warmth, generosity, convenient living, connection and a grounded atmosphere reflecting surrounds, all combining to tell a personally specific story for Tess, her husband Yves and their kids Lotte, Jemima and Wilbur.
Technology seamlessly blends into the design of the Kitchen with integrated appliances vanishing behind streamlined bespoke cabinetry, creating effortless functionality with sleek lines to allow the atmospheric feature materials to be the hero of the space.
“The focus on seamless, highly functional, convenient and well-planned design has enabled the stunning textural quality of the stone walls, the beautiful quartzite benchtops and lofty, white exposed beam ceilings to sing as the absolute hero statements, bringing the ocean and pine view into ultimate focus. When designing the space, my priority was to ensure the unique materiality took centre stage in the final space to create an almost living-room-style inviting warmth and cosiness anchoring the whole home. – particularly the texture and pretty softness of the bench and wall surfaces. Thoughtful design evolution, and bespoke material selection means the texture and pretty softness of the bench and wall surfaces have delivered the materiality notes of my dreams. Combined with connected spatial planning and personalised functional integrations, the final result for our family has definitely surpassed all expectations.” says Tess.
A generous family refrigerator keeping food fresh, a convenient drinks fridge tucked away in the scullery, a double bin drawer, stick vacuum charging station cupboard, shallow interior drawers for cup, spices and cutlery, an ipad and phone charging dock and scullery drawers specifically designed to hide dry store pantry items are just some of the many features. All hidden gems - very easily accessed - yet their presence only revealed when needed. The motorised blind system activated on a timer or with the touch of a button, offer effortless privacy when the ocean views disappear with the setting sun.
Discreetly placed touchscreens on the benchtop allow for effortless control of the integrated appliances. Adjusting the oven temperature or checking the progress of a roast with a simple tap, now possible without disrupting the flow of conversation or the rhythm of food preparation. A hidden-yet-powerful down draft ventilation system integrated into the induction cooktop ensures a clear view through the window splash to watch the ocean colours change during golden hour while cooking dinner. Adjusting itself using advanced technology based on the amount of vapours created during cooking, efficiently removes cooking vapours without the bulky presence of a traditional rangehood interrupting the minimalist cabinetry design.
Technology seamlessly integrates into the design. Integrated appliances vanish behind streamlined bespoke cabinetry to create an effortless functionality with sleek lines making space for the key features.
“The generous proportions, central location in the house and integrated appliances make everything feel so much more relaxed. Watching the swell while prepping food is a special treat and the kitchen servery onto the front deck has been a complete game changer. Space to feed the kids and their friends after a surf while their sandy wet feet stay outside on the deck. Plus having a connected spot for sunset drinks with friends and family, while having a second outdoor backyard entertaining area nearby has been special too.”
The cabinetry has been custom-designed to deliver visual design impact, thoughtful and generous storage; as well as seamlessly integrating appliances in convenient locations. Serving free-flowing family and entertaining life, with an uninterrupted visual flow.
“This focus on seamless, highly functional, convenient and well-planned cabinetry design and appliance integration has enabled the stunning textural quality of the stone walls, the beautiful quartzite benchtops and lofty, white exposed beam ceilings to sing as the absolute hero statements, along with the view. It is hard to explain the incredible impact this combination of functionality and personal style (what we refer to as ‘elevated living’) has offered our family, post-renovation. Definitely even more than expected.” says Tess.

"At our beach, at our magic beach, the old bed is cosy and wide. To the sounds of the ocean we sleep through the night.. adrift on the evening tide."
